The test system is intended for rapid diagnosis of contagious pustular dermatitis (ecthyma), viral zoonotic disease, in small ruminants and its differentiation from highly dangerous diseases: sheep pox, peste des petits ruminants, etc. The test system is used for detection of ecthyma virus DNA in biological samples (nasal, conjunctival swabs; stabilized blood; skin scrapings, pathological materials (fragments of organs and tissues); small ruminant sera (including native, fetal/embryonic sera), nutrient media and other types of biological materials) by real-time polymerase chain reaction.

The test-system has the following advantages: use of an internal control (IC) for its production that enables control of main PCR stages (nucleic acid extraction and amplification of DNA region of the pathogen under study), as well as use of recombinant positive control (PC) that makes works with pathogen during production process unnecessary and reduces the infection spread risk.
