Purpose The vaccine is intended for the prophylactic immunization of pigs against porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome in pig farms unfavorable for this disease.
Description and characteristics The vaccine is made from an attenuated virus of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (virus strain "PRRS-1SBC", genotype 1, European) with the addition of a sucrose-peptone-gelatin stabilizer.
Method of vaccination The vaccine is administered intramuscularly in the neck area behind the ear. The vaccination dose is 2 cm3 and does not depend on the animal's gender, weight, or age.
Piglets are vaccinated from two weeks of age. Replacement gilts and sows are vaccinated 2-4 weeks before insemination. Sows are revaccinated 2-4 weeks before insemination.
Immune response The vaccine induces an immune response to the PRRS virus in pigs within 28 days after a single application, which lasts for at least 24 weeks.
Production form The vaccine is packaged in 2 cm3 (5-50 doses); 4 cm3 (10-100 doses); 10 cm3 (100 doses) glass vials.
