Forceris is a unique combined injectable product for the prevention of iron deficiency anaemia and coccidiosis containing toltrazuril, a triazinone derivative with anti-emeriosis effect, and iron in the form of iron-carbohydrate complex of gleptoferron 20% Fe.
The product is recommended for use with newborn piglets in coccidiosis-unfavourable farms, as well as for reduction of oocyst excretion in farms with confirmed circulation of Cystoisospora suis.
Injectable iron-carbohydrate complexes are acknowledged haematological agents in veterinary medicine and are effective for significant increase of haemoglobin level in piglets under intensive feeding conditions, when milk diet does not provide them with iron for several weeks. After intramuscular injection, the complex is absorbed and metabolised, releasing iron for use and/or storage according to the nutritional status of the animal.
